5th Annual Lakeshore Blessing of the Bikes. Sunday April 30, 2006. Ottawa County Fairgrounds. Holland, Michigan.

Holland, MI March 27, 2006: The 5th annual Lakeshore Blessing of the Bikes will be held at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds in Holland, Michigan, Sunday April 30, 2006. Gates open at 10:00 a.m. Blessing at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Phil Nguyen will officiate. Donation: $5.00 per bike or vehicle.

All gate proceeds from this charitable event will benefit Child & Family Services of Western Michigan and Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity. The event kicks off the 2006 riding season.

The purpose: A gathering to start the riding season with a Blessing for a safe year, to promote a sense of community and fellowship among riders and to support local charities.

Hundreds of motorcyclists and non-motorcyclists participate in the blessing. Live music, food and motorcycles of every color, size, shape, and brand make this event interesting for all attendees. Vendors sell leather goods, t-shirts, sunglasses and other “biker stuff”. The event includes awards sponsored by Hot Rod Harley Davidson of Muskegon for “Bikers Choice” bike and best vintage bike (1979 or earlier). For a $10 fee participants can enter their motorcycle. Winners will receive a trophy and cash prize.

A pre-event hotcake breakfast will be held at H.D. Custom Finishes at 175 Manufacturer’s Drive, Holland (616.218.6397). Breakfast starts 9:00 a.m.
