Text Box: Support Your Local Chapter Having fun was what I was told GWRRA was all about. And since the 2+ years Jim and I have been members, that is what we have had. But as they say in business (or maybe it was Confucius) you have to spend money to make money and or to have fun. Now of course, this is not always true. Most of the truly good things in life are free…good health, the love within your family and those sunny days that make riding indescribable. A number of people have told me they had a great time at the Anniversary Party. That party cost quite a lot. Fortunately we raised a lot of funds at the Party and it practically paid for itself. In the planning phase there were some doubts, but it worked out in the end and most importantly, we fulfilled the GWRRA promise. We had fun. So finally to my longwinded point here, Chapter G needs funding. While this club does not have monthly dues it does have monthly expenses. We have the newsletter and we also send various cards and flowers to chapter members. It would also be great to have some funds to spontaneously use on rides for maybe some ice cream (what a concept!) This all takes hard cash. We are talking about a Fun Run in early summer and would most certainly welcome any suggestions regarding fundraisers. I know gas and heating fuels are at an all time high. I know things are tight but please be generous when you see the 50/50 can come out. Remember that the money in that can comes back around to us all in a better form…Fun. A Chapter G Bump in the Back Julie Meredith Text Box: Just wanted to thank Julie and Marilynn for a wonderful party. Jim and I both had a wonderful time. I think this was one of the best anniversary parties we have attended. The food was great. We both enjoyed playing the games and the DJ. I hope you consider having it at the same place next year.
